The Beverly Hills Post Office (BHPO) includes all homes in the 90210 zip code which fall outside the Beverly Hills city limits. Homes in the Post Office enjoy the cache of a Beverly Hills address but do not fall under the jurisdiction of city services or schools. The BHPO covers over six square miles of land north of the city limits, more than doubling the size of Beverly Hills. The area is bounded by Bel Air to the west, Mulholland Drive to the north, the Hollywood Hills to the east, and the city of Beverly Hills to the south.

Properties in every price range above a million dollars are well represented in the Post Office. The community serves as the most affordable point of entry into the Beverly Hills single family home market. A number of modest residences under 2,000 s.f. are located on roads that run along or branch off of the nieghborhood's four main canyons - Benedict, Peavine (San Ysidro Dr), Higgins (N Beverly Dr), and Coldwater. At the high end, palatial estates rival the best of Bel Air and Holmby Hills. The Post Office was home to the highest priced public listing (though not sold) seen in greater Los Angeles at $195,000,000, until the Playboy Mansion was listed for sale at $200,000,000 in 2016. Owing to the vast geography, views and recreational amenities run the gamut from property to property. Depending on location, commuting can be nearly equidistant between the Westside and the San Fernando Valley.
