LITTLE HOLMBY

Little Holmby occupies the area between Wilshire and Sunset Boulevards, directly east of the UCLA campus and Westwood Village, and west of Holmby Hills and the Los Angeles Country Club. Development commenced in earnest in 1926 following the opening of UCLA, with peak homebuilding in the ensuing three decades. Much of the original prewar architecture remains impeccably maintained and largely undisturbed, a testament to the timeless appeal of many homes in the community.

Also known as Holmby Westwood, this neighborhood is one of the most desirable in all of Los Angeles. Gently rolling hills and curved streets are complimented by deep front yard setbacks, meticulous landscaping, and mature trees that have had nearly a century to fill in. Award winning Warner Avenue Elementary School consistently ranks among the top public schools in Los Angeles. The school acts as a focal point for Little Holmby, and is within walking distance of every house in the neighborhood as well as Holmby Park. Residents enjoy an ideal Westside location, central to Beverly Hills, Century City, the Wilshire Corridor, Westwood, and Brentwood. The aforementioned commercial centers are all within approximately one mile of this tranquil community's borders - within easy reach but seemingly a world away.

Homes in Little Holmby are generally large without feeling ostentatious or imposing. The majority fall in the 3,000 s.f. to 5,000 s.f. range. The smallest lots trend toward the center of the neighborhood. A handful of estates exceed the upper bound of the statistics given below, commanding prices up to $10,000,000 with home sizes reaching 10,000 s.f.. These properties are generally concentrated along the eastern fringe of the community, with the largest sitting on full acre lots bordering Holmby Hills and the L.A.C.C.  Little Holmby is not renowned for views, but some properties are sufficiently perched to take in the city lights or Wilshire Corridor skyline. Swimming pools, grassy yards, and gardens are common.

Neighborhood interests are overseen by the Holmby Westwood Property Owners Association. For detailed information please visit their website.
